With those classes under her belt, she then takes over her aunt's travel agency (again making her father think it's his idea). She meets Ian Miller, a high school English teacher, WASP, and dreamboat she had made a fool of herself over at the restaurant; they date secretly for a while before her family finds out. Her father is livid over her dating a non-Greek. He has to learn to accept Ian; Ian has to learn to accept Toula's huge family, and Toula has to learn to accept herself.

It's probably even more amusing if you're Greek (I'm not, but I found it hilarious).

The show started off as a one woman comedy act before crossing over to film and is funny with the occasional genuinely touching insight. I haven't laughed so much in ages. I wonder when it comes out on video.

When the joke is discovered, Violet feels that Kevin was making a fool out of her. This event eventually brings them closer together. Kevin tries to help her in overcoming her shyness on the stage and they finally become lovers, in spite of his attempt to hide his past and departure from Australia. She finally lands a deal with a record label after a successful performance at an open mic night at the Bowery Ballroom, which was attended by all of the 'Coyotes' from the Coyote Ugly saloon.

ข้อความยกมาจากบล็อกผู้เผยแพร่ค่ะ "หนังสือเรียน มานี มานะ ปิติ ชูใจ ยังจำกันได้ไหม หลักสูตรปี 2521 ชึ่งยุคนั้น ผมได้มีโอกาสเรียนเป็นรุ่นแรก หลังจากเรียนจบชั้น ป.6 แล้ว อีกประมาณ 2 ปีให้หลัง ทางโรงเรียนก็ได้เปลี่ยนตำราเล่มใหม่ หรืออาจจะเป็นหลักสูตรภาษาไทยเล่มใหม่ก็ได้ แต่ยังไงแล้วก็ยังรักหนังสือเรียน มานะ มานี ปิติ ชูใจ อยู่ เนื้อหาในเล่มนั้นเมื่่ออ่านแล้ว ชวนให้ติดตาม มีความเพลิดเพลินในการเรียน เมื่อเทียบกับยุคสมัยนี้ รู้สึกว่า เด็กสมัยนี้ไม่ค่อยชอบเรียนภาษาไทยกันเท่าไหร่นัก อาจจะเพราะว่าเนื้อหานั้นอ่านแล้วไม่เป็นเรื่องราวชวนให้ติดตามเหมือนสมัยก่อน สำหรับคนที่เคยเรียนก็คงจะรู้สึกนึกถึงความหลังนั้นนะครับ แต่ก็ได้เฝ้าแต่คิดเพราะมันเป็นอดิตไปแล้ว"

มานะ มานี ปิติ ชูใจ เป็นชุดแบบเรียนภาษาไทยระดับประถมศึกษา ในชั้นประถมปีที่ 1-6 รวมทั้งสิ้น 12 เล่ม ซึ่งใช้ในการเรียนการสอนภาษาไทยระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2521 - 2537 เขียนโดยอาจารย์รัชนี ศรีไพรวรรณ และใช้รูปภาพประกอบกับเนื้อหาโดยเขียนภาพประกอบโดย 3 ท่านหนึ่งในนั้นคือ คุณเตรียม ชาชุมพร นักวาดการ์ตูนและนิยายภาพชื่อดังแห่งชัยพฤกษ์การ์ตูน รวมถึงอีก 2 ท่านคือโอม รัชเวช และ ปฐม พัวพิมล
